I hope I am asking this in the right place. If not then please direct me to where the correct place would be. I am not electronicaly inclined. I could draw you a complete diagram showing you how a V-8 engine works from putting the key in the ignition to out the exhaust pipe but that is besides the point. I am a soldier in Iraq and have a cheap skate buddy that wants to play his xbox 360 on his laptop rather than buy a t.v. He got the correct HDMI cable but I don't know if his graphics card will allow the video input. He has the ATI radeon hd 3200. Any ideas?

Then you have the memory for technology. Apply yourself

thank you for defending my constitutionally protected rights and liberty :) especially my right to keep and bear arms

Our Constitutional Democratic Republic would be lost without your vigilance.

    > play his xbox 360 on his laptop
    > the correct HDMI cable
    > if his graphics card will allow the video input

video cards typically do not have these types of INPUTS. Laptops are not exactly upgradeable. By the time he finishes buying external USB2 or FireWire400 video capture hardware it will have been simpler- and less costly to have purchased a small LCD TV.

Having said that.. there is a CHEAP, and inexpensive USB2 option but it will require a FAST processor -- something a cheapskate's laptop likely doesn't have

Again the LCD TV is less a hassle.. when he figures out how to make it rain money do let me know

    There is the hardcore option
