OK I'm in my teens and I haven't been sexually active in over four months now. The 1st & 2nd time I had sex it was with out a condom & with two different people. But I've been to the doctor since then and got tested & all results were negative. I've had sex since the last appointment with 1 guy and we used a condom. I haven't been this year for my annual check up. & I'm kind of scared because I have discharge when I'm no were near my period and bad odor. Occasionally I get bumbs that come and go and I get bumps when ever I shave. I've been looking for ways to get rid of the smells and I've read that sometimes the smells are caused by a std and that's why I'm scraed of going to the doctor. One guy I had sex with that didn't use a condom had given me yeast infection and I'm scared he had something else but after we had sex he pretty much broke up with me and we haven't talked since so I can't ask him if he had anything. I heard afterwards that he is a dog and he has sex with a lot of girls and that made me scared but after I had sex with him I went to the doctors and everything was fine. Is it possible he still gave me something that is just now showing up?

It is possible he gave you something.

It is also possible this guy you had sex with the condom gave you something.
Contraception is not 100% reliable.

Go get yourself tested.
Always use a condom, and more, unless you want kids.
Make sure your guys has no STDs before having sex with him, get them tested.

And, try to settle down with someone, live a more healthy lifestyle, and don't move on to sex so fast if you want better guys.

The bumps when shaving are normal, but the smell and the other bumps that come an go are another. You need to get an exam now!

Don't be scared of going to the doctor. That's the worst mistake you could make if you actually DO have an STD. A lot of them, not all, are treatable. STD's are nothing to run away from, or to be anything less than mindful of. Go to the doctor as soon as you can, the sooner you get treated the better. Even if it's just a yeast infection. Those can be harmful to your body if left untreated too.

Just pointing out this mistake. They are ALL treatable, they are NOT all cureable. Good advice, nonetheless.

OHHH I read that wrong! I'm sorry but I still don't agree. Aids is treatable, but there is still no known cure.

All STDs are preventable, but I don't agree that all STD's are treatable, although most are, which is essentially what Chey said originally, she just didn't mention curable. There are also complications of STDs that are not curable. A treatment provides a cure, maintenance for the rest of your life of a treatment, isn't really a treatment, it requires a permanent lifestyle change. I prefer the way Chey stated it.

I have to respectfully disagree Justy. Many illnesses are treatable but not curable. You can treat the symptoms, but cannot cure the illness.

A treatment does not always provide a cure.

But a Herpes treatment would not prevent an outbreak, am I correct?

I apologize that I am incorrect, does that mean that all STDs are treatable?

Don't worry about it Chey, I've done it a few times. I was just trying to make sure I didn't miss anything or something... (I've done that before, too)

JWF, I see it is a difference in opinion. I view treatable as "able to be endured, aleviated, etc.". So, in my mind, if you give me a pill, and I take it once a day, and I live a year longer, then that's a treatment. However, if I must go through an hour long dialisis on a regular basis, that is beyond treatment.

It's all good, we all mean the same thing, just word it differently.
"It can't all be cured, but you can help protect yourself from anything, given you take the proper precautions."
