Hi,
My wife's ITIN application (W-7) was rejected.
After she applied for it, she received a letter from IRS
In May which says that she needs to send "supporting documents"
Even though she sent a notarized copy of passport and visa with the
Original W-7. She then went to a local IRS office and had someone there
Copy/notarize the documents and send them to IRS in June.
But she just received a letter from IRS which says "she didn't
respond within 45 days to their notice", even though she DID in June!
Does that mean that IRS didn't receive those documents at all
Or there are still something wrong with the documents submitted?
She called IRS but they don't know much about her case.
Could someone suggest us what to do?
Should she ask IRS in writing to tell us why it was rejected?
Thanks so much!
