    Robbery with intent of theft
My son is on 5 year probation for manufactuing and intent to sell. He violated his probation by not coming to see his PO. He also picked up another charge of robbery with intent of theft. He has a court appointed attorny. Is it true you have to give them money in order for them to try to do a good job? What kind of jail time is he looking at. We live in Travis county. In TX. Should he have an MHMR lawyer if he is Bi polar?

    Hello m:

Nahhh. You don't have to give 'em a dime. If he asks for money, call the cops.

In terms of how much time he's looking at, there's NO way to tell. There's a 1,000 different factors that go into that decision and we know NONE of them. SOME of them, might be whether somebody was hurt in the robbery, how much he stole, was he armed, what kind of record he has, and things like that.
