    Chicken cacciatore
I have been happily making chicken cacciatore for years by browning chicken breasts with onions and peppers, adding chunked tomatoes and mushrooms, hot peppers, sometimes putting in a little spaghetti sauce.

Last night I had homemade "real Italian" cacciatore and it had a sort of puréed sauce, no chunks, and a spicey flavor.

I cannot find any recipe other than the one I've used for years.

Anyone have anything along those lines?

Maybe they used a putenesca (sp) sauce, really good and a little spicy.
It sounds so good, I might make cacciatore tomorrow.

If it sounds like what you are thinking of, I'll give you my recipe because I have been using it for a while and it is sooo good. Mine has red chile flakes in it also and I use anchovy paste instead of anchovies. (you really can't taste them)

What I add to a sauce like that is a little sugar. It makes any sauce taste better even a spicy sauce!
