    I'm 17 and pregnant. Can I get married without parents permission?
    Im 17 years old and about 3 months pregnant. I live in CA and the baby's daddy lives 5 hours away in LA. I want to go move with him since I hate living at home. There is no point in me staying here. I know one legal way is if were married. My parents would never sign the papers and give me off too him. He just turned 19. Is there any way we can get married without my parents permission?

    In California, you must be eighteen or have written consent of at least one of your parents to get married under the age of eighteen. You also need to go to court and get a court order allowing your underage marriage. I can not find any statute that would allow for a deviation because you are pregnant. Below is the statue for California.

    CALIFORNIA FAMILY.CODE SECTION 300-310

    If your parents are unwilling to consent, you may need to wait until your eighteenth birthday to wed.

    Same question, same answer (assuming at least one of you is under age and you live in California.)

    But I'm confused. You got married but not "married legally"? What does that mean? What are your ages?

    Where you are from doesn't make any difference. In Georgia too, you need parental consent if you are under 18.

    "§ 19-3-2. Who may contract marriage; parental consent
    (a) To be able to contract marriage, a person must:

    (1) Be of sound mind;

    (2) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this Code section, be at least 18 years of age;
    ...
    (b) If either applicant for marriage is 16 or 17 years of age, parental consent as provided in Code Section 19-3-37 shall be required."
