Digital camera where the date is part of the fle name
I had a fujifilm camera that named the photo with the date it was taken as the file name when you transferred the images from the camera to the computer. The file name would be the date taken and then a picture number or code. Then when I printed it, Wal-Mart always prints the file name on the back & I would always know when the picture was taken without looking it up on the computer or having to make it print on the front.

I am getting ready to buy a new digital camera & am wondering if any specific brands or models of cameras still do this. My most recent camera, a Kodak, did not do this.

    Thanks

I have a Nikon D200 and I use MPIX to upload and print images. They print the file name on the back of my prints. My images are saved as DSC_**** where the stars are image numbers. My camera allows me to set my prefix but I'm not sure if I can make it a date that automatically updates daily. The numbering system works for me though. You can always handle it by setting up a standard file naming convention and name your images once you get them out of your camera though it might be time consuming if you take a lot of pictures. I definitely suggest researching before you buy if this is a feature you are really interested in. Check out some of the Nikon Coolpix cameras. They may be capable. Good luck to you.
