When I'm driving it the speedometer got crazzy and go up and down and then stay down but when that happen the last gear [5th] shift to 4th and stay there even when I go over 70 or 80 miles per hour still on 4th gear. Hi! alex80, and welcome to AMHD :)

As long as you have the car save this Mark:
Honda Troubleshooting - Symptoms and Solutions

Near the bottom it says you have a bad speed sensor.

    You tube video:
    YouTube - Crazy Civic speedometer

    Random search for part:
Discount Car Parts Stuff - Car Accessories & Truck Accessories - Cheap Auto Parts - Car Cover - Floor Mats - Cargo Liner - 1992 Honda Civic Speed Sensor Stock Replacement

Looks easy to replace , pull connector, swap out part (metric bolts?) replace connector.

I'd go under an check first, could be one or more bad wires, corroded contacts,
clean 'em up, then see what you have.

You could probably do better than $65 locally.

In the old days, it wasn't so bad to drive without a speedometer
Once you get used to it not working.

But nowadays, it's probably hooked into the ECM and can affect performance,
Not to mention some states may require it for inspection.

Forgot to mention... check for any chaffed, frayed, or broken wires along the harness.

Bad sensor that was the problem now the speedometer work fine but still have the problem with the last gear sometime take a long time to shift. The car pretty much go on 4th gear all the time make the rpm go high. Another problem the car is slow take a little time to get speed look like don't have much torque but once is on 4th gear the car respond very well and when shift to 5th it really work fine . What is the problem? Tnx again .

Unless someone swapped the tranny on your 92 civic They came standard with 5speed manual or optional 4speed automatic transmissions.
If your sure its an automatic. It can't go to fifth.

    Found at this site:
    Office of Defects Investigation (ODI)

Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s):

    ACURA / INTEGRA 1994

    HONDA / CIVIC 1992-1994

    NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 94V063000

    Summary:
A RETAINING CLIP THAT CONNECTS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE TO THE SHIFT LEVER ACTUATING ROD CAN HAVE INSUFFICIENT RETENTION PRESSURE AND MAY EVENTUALLY COME OFF AFTER REPEATED SHIFT LEVER OPERATION. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE POSITION OF THE SHIFT LEVER MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL TRANSMISSION GEAR POSITION.

    Consequence:
THIS COULD RESULT IN UNANTICIPATED VEHICLE MOVEMENT AND ACCIDENT.

    Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSTALL AN IMPROVED RETAINING CLIP.

    Notes:
SYSTEM: POWERTRAIN; TRANSMISSION; AUTOMATIC. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. NOTE: IF YOUR VEHICLE IS PRESENTED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE THE REMEDY IS NOT PROVIDED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME AND FREE OFCHARGE OR THE REMEDY DOES NOT CORRECT THE DEFECT OR NONCOMPLIANCE, PLEASE CONTACT HONDA AT 1-310-783-2000. ALSO, CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFICSAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.

Which leads me to believe; If the shift cable isn't connected properly it could cause improper shifting. VIN #s for 92 Civics on page 15 of attached PDF report.

Two other things it could be; Did you disconnect the battery when you swapped out he spedo sensor? If not you can try that. With new sensor, vehicle will need to relearn how to operate.
With most re-learns you don't drive the vehicle like you stole it. If you don't have the manual do this.
    • Pull and protect (so they don't arc) both positive + and
      negative - cables on battery
    • wait at least 5 minutes
    • replace cables
    • drive vehicle like your taking your drivers test for the first time. nice and easy.
    • drive for at least 10miles at several different speeds and hold it
at each different speed for at least 30seconds and
      vehicle reaches operating temp.
    • don't forget to use reverse
    • Vehicles computers should now be set

Next is dealer check, because one or more clutch packs in tranny may be bad or slipping.
