Maytag Quiet Series 300 Dishwasher - First Just No Lights, Now won't Run at All!
I have a Maytag Quiet Series 300. Model number is MDBH955AWW.

2 days ago the lights on the touch control panel just stopped working all together. None of them light up, but we could still get it to run the cycle.

Today, it won't do anything at all. It's as if it's not getting any power at all. Of course I can't tell because there are no lights...

I have checked the breaker in the house, I have unplugged it and then plugged it back in (maybe hoping it might reset or something)

The door shuts and latches fine. And we've not had any other problems with the machine. It's less than 3 years old and of course not covered by Maytags 1 year warranty.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Me too!! I have the same model--I hope that we can find a solution that does not cost $$. My dishwasher is only 3 years old, also!

Well I called Maytag and I complained my way up the chain of command. Even thought the 1 year warranty was over, it was less than 3 years old. First they offered to provide free parts for the repair but we'd have to pay for the repair man's labor and diagnostic and wait for 21 days for parts to arrive after all that. That would have cost quite a bit, not to mention was a hellasiously long time to go with out a dishwasher with 4 kids. So finally we settled with them giving us 30% off the cost of a new Maytag machine. I hated buying another, but that was the only way to get any % or a rebate. They also threw in an extended warranty on the new machine at no cost. (Yes we did buy the same excat machine.)
If I was you, I'd call them and see what you can get out of them.

Thank you so much. I am glad you complained. I plan on doing the same thing. Mine is only under 2 years old. Sounds like this machine has a common issue. I will let you know how I make out. Thanks again.

I have the same unit and problem. Has anyone ever gotten the answer to what is causing this? Is it a new control board needed?

So far my machine is back working steadily"knock on wood" but I know that there are so many people with this issue. I called them and they offered 1/2 off the part. I don't feel that this was enough but at least it was something.

Having the same problem with Model MDBH945AWB. First it was stuck on just two lights lighting up but running and now two lights lighting up and it will not run. Only 1 and 1/2 years old. New control board is going to be $102. Sounds like a defective part that needs recalled.

Chalk up another Model MDBH945AWB. Nearly identical problem. Heated dry lights can't be activated. All lights on the left don't work or function from what I can tell. I can turn the machine on and off and it runs sort of on autopilot.

This is almost always an internal fuse problem. Always check that first. A fuse is just a piece of metal in a can that melts if too much current flows through it. Fuses are much cheaper than replacing the entire machine (a standard appliance fuse is usually less than $20). Most of the time when you find the fuse you can tell that it has been destroyed, they sometimes have windows that let you see the melted filament. If it is a type you can't tell and have an multi-meter then you can tell if it is blown by using the ohm setting and if current flows through it, it is OK. You can also test if current flows through it by using the "9 Volt battery and tongue method", I don't suggest this, but some people don't mind the tickle. This method is accomplished by hooking a small piece of wire to one side of the battery, and the fuse to the other. Touch the other end of the fuse and the piece of wire to your tongue, if you feel electricity flowing across your tongue then the fuse is OK.
