    Walking on heals
My 13 year old cockerspaniel/lab mix has recently started walking on his heals on his front two paws... He acts as though he has no feet. He will no longer walk on gravel, only on soft surfaces. Almost like founder in a horse. It is scarey and I feel sorry for him, although he seems to be in no pain.

    Has your vet done X-rays?

That would be my first step.

It's not normal or natural for a dog to walk on his heels. This could be a simple problem or something much worse.

Only a vet can give you an accurate diagnosis.

    Good luck.
