I would like to thank all the people that help in this forum. I would like to know how to replace an ignition switch on a sabre lawn tractor. It seems quite difficult. I would appreciate any diagrams or anything that would help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Certainly! Open your hood and reach under the right hand side of the dash to the five wire connector that fastens to the bottom of the switch. Wiggle back and forth while pulling downward. It should come free with a little patience. Next squeeze the two locking tabs that are on each side of the switch I do not remember if they are side-to-side or front and back) while pushing upward and the switch come out of the dash.
Now reverse the procedure by pushing in your new switch (part #GY00191) taking care to put it in right-side-up and plug your connector back up.
Pictures attached show dash ans side view of switch with loccking tabs evident.
Peace,
Clarke
How do you replace it, if it is in the fender by the shifter under the seat on the right fender?
Hi,
Referring to the picture, that rectangular piece to the rear of the shifter/shift gate is a cover. It is held on by four screws that come up from the underside of the fender. There are two brackets with four screws(2 at front corners with a bracket in addition to the screw/bracket combination at the rear.) Be sure to note how the brackets come out, they only fit one way.
It will require a ratchet(I use a 1/4"), a short extension and a 10mm socket to loosen and replace the screws. The cover with the switch will lift to reveal the bottm of the switch and the wiring.
Peace,
Clarke
