What is Pit Grass? Why is it called Pit Grass?

I have never heard of pit grass, but it brings to mind something probably very dense and long.

Thanks, for all your input. But misunderstood my sister and thought she said "Pit Grass", but she said "Tit Grass". Another word for Bermuda grass. Sorry for the misunderstanding and confusion, we were just curious what type of grass was this if was a real type of grass. What can I say, thanks for all your help.
