    Parental custody for leaving province?
    I have a situation.
Im a new mother , and currently raising the baby on my own. The father wants to be involved but lives in another province . He is pushing for me and the child to move there to be a family . I'm just worried if I move there and things don't work out he will be able to force me through the courts to stay. I was told that if a child lives in a province for over 3 months they are considered a resident and he has rights to force us to stay in that province. I need to know if things don't work out I have the right to come back home and raise the baby around my family. Help?

You need to get custody established first. I would strongly advise contacting an attorney to prepare an agreement that would allow you to move back if it doesn't work out.

I would review this with alocal family law attorney, my concern is first if you already think it will not work out, why even consider moving,

Why will the father not move to where you are at?

Even if you get and establish custody there, if you move and the father becomes part of the child's life there, he may still have legal grounds in time
