    Distance and acceleration
    A model train moving at 20cm-1 increases its speed uniformly to 60cms-1 in 5.0s. Calculate its acceleration and the distance travelled in that time.

    Acceleration = Rate of change of velocity = (final velocity - initial velocity)/Total time

    s = distance
    u = initial velocity
    t = time
    a = acceleration
