    My greman short hair poniter will not gain weight
    The vet say he need to gain about 10 more pounds u can see his ribs we have try all different dog food with high fat and poratin but still not gain weight he very full of energy and want to run all the time but it look like we do not feed but we have a open dish all day I need help please help:)

    Has he been checked for worms?

    That's the first thing I'd do.

    Yes he has many time he going to be 2 in feb

    Does he have flaky dry skin? This could be a symptom of a thyroid condition.

    Has the vet done any testing? X-rays? Labs?

    It could be his diet, but it sounds like there's something else going on.

    I'm no vet though, so this is only a guess. Sadly that's all anyone here can offer you because we can't see your dog or do tests.

    No skin prob but he is hot all the time it just comes off him they say he is health but it crazy he just will not gain it tell u the truth it making me mad lol

    I have a dog like that.
    He always seems to be hot, my little girl will be curled up in front of the fire but he will be out in the other room laying on the floor boards.
    He is also very hard to put weight on.

    I started adding a small amount of lamb flap to his regular food, or you could try adding sardines in oil a few times a week.
    When adding something new to their diet always remember to do it in a very small amount at first to avoid stomach upsets.
