A child deciding where to live
I am 17 and live in Washington state, and because of unpleasant circumstances, my father and I have decided that it is in the best interest of myself that we go through the steps of moving. We have many reasons to move, and I would like to know specifics about this..

What does your mother have to say about this?
Does your mom have primary, joint or partial custody?
Do you live with your mom or your dad?
    When will you be 18?

If your talking divorce then he can ask for custody and you might be able to speak to or write a letter of preference to the judge but in the long run it's the judge that decides where your placed if both sides can not agree.

Otherwise its when your 18 would be the time you have the sole right to the decision.

You can not move out of your house until you are eighteen, even if your father agrees with your decision to live on your own.

You can not enter into a contract (lease) until you are legally an adult unless you are emancipated.

As asked previously, where is your mother? What are her feelings? How long until your eighteenth birthday?

She wants to move with her dad and her not her own place,
If there is no custody order he can file for full custody but we need to hear the rest of the story.

Document ALL the unpleasant things so the Judge is more likely to go with your father having full or primary custody.
