    Written Threats Defame Character
In the state of Florida if a distant family member is using privileged information to threaten a family member who is a public community figure, what can be done to protect the victim? The distant relative has already sent e-mails and faxes to victim's staff and threatens other actions with larger consequence. Although all information in e-mails and faxes are not true, there are threads of truth that seem factual. Thank you for helping.

It sounds like blackmail and slander if it is untrue.
What ever is true they can basically broadcast but using it to threaten is blackmail.
