Lien on a home we were going to purchased through deed for contract
We put a down payment on a home to purchase through deed for contract and the people backed out of it.We went to court over it twice and won both times and had to put a lien on the house because they spent the money. We had their checking account garnished for one payment before they closed that.I feel like our lawyer isn't doing enough to find other ways of getting our money back. What else can we do?We need the money to pay bills.it has been over two years and I feel like we are getting know where. What other options do we have in recovering our money?

winning a judgement is easy, getting the money is hard, why did you garnish for "one payment"?? Not for all the money in the account, but of course they close it then,

You find where they work and if garnishment is legal for wages in your area, do that. You have to try and find their money, an attorney does not do that, you will need to hire a PI or collection firm for that

We could only get the 25% of what money they had in there according to our state. They get a pension so we can't get that garnished.I would like to try and do a force sell on a vehicle or something else of value they have.

If they have loans on vechiles normally you don't get anything, and if they are older and paid for, again don't hardly get much.
Not sure your location, but many, a forced sale is very hard if even possible to do. Normally it costs you more in legal fees than you get from the sale.

If you got a lien on the house, why can't you foreclose on the house ?
