    Eviction cost
Ok back in August we made payment arrangements with are land lord to pay the rent on the 30th instead of the 1st because we did not have the full amount. The landlord said OK and accepted a partial payment towards the rent and then on the 30th we paid the rest of the rent and nothing else was said about it. Now in Oct. our landlord tells us that we have to pay an extra 273.00 dollars towards our rent for the eviction cost of August.Noboby had told us of the cost until 2 months later and we also paid in Aug. a 100 dollar late because we paid it on the 30th. When I asked to see proof that they had filed these eviction papers with the court they said that they don't have them and that the fee that they had to file cost 273 dollars and that I had to pay it. My question is this (1) can I demand proof that they filed this paper with the courts (2) Can they charge me two months later when my lease is about to end next month (3) If they didn't file these papers like they said am I responable for this eviction fee.

Thank you to all who answer this because this is very frustrating to me

If the lease or rental agreement does not say you have to pay it, you don't have to pay it even if he spent that much. ( most say you do have to pay eviction costs)

That amount would have to be an attorney charge, since the cost for a eviction filing in TN for example is under 100 dollars ( 89 I think)

Yes you have full right to ask for copies of recipts .
