Thoughts on adjuster in the chainsaw bar
What do you think of the newer bars with the adjuster in the bar?

I have a 16" "Craftsman" (358.351600) with that setup, and it must be built different, 'cause I can't get any lift out of the bar when I go to adjust.......well, maybe an 1/16th".

It seems to run an cut okay.

    Hi,
It is a matter of economics. When the "bean counters" work in 1/100ths of a penny and building the adjuster into the bar costs significantly less than the adjuster parts and assembly of those parts; what do you think they would choose?
I still hold upward on these bars when tightening. There seems to be enough drag that they do not shift appreciably on their own.
    Peace,
    Clarke
