Fuel shut-off solenoid hot - is this normal
I have a Craftsman riding mower with B&S 15.5 OHV engine. When trying to start, the motor turns but it will not start. Have replaced spark plug. I was checking for loose wire connections and noticed the fuel solenoid at the bottom of the carburetor bowl, was really hot. I had accidentally left the switch in the "on" position for about 5 minutes or less from my last starting attempt before this, so I guess it was getting juice that way? Is this normal or could this be an indication of it not working, and perhaps be the problem with not starting?
