Robots are going to rule the world!
The title says it all, eventually robots will have complete control over humans, and we will be defensless against them! Just look around, automatic EVERYTHING!! We are slowly being over run by robots, and soon they will take over our minds! They will be mind controlling robots!

The new Wii coming out next year has a device that goes onto your head and you control games by your thoughts...

    Scary.

I am still undecided if it's good or bad.

    CONS
More obesity (who would want to get up if a robot does it for you)
    Less jobs
    Possibility of malfunctions/defects

    PROS
    Helping disabled/eldery people
    Wikkid cool video games :D
    Safer cars
Better technology means better drug/disease research

    Hello Me:

I'm one of the first. My mind is completely controlled by robots from the planet Zenon. It's good, though, and doesn't hurt a bit. It just makes me pretty damn smart.

I heard about these robots two years ago.
    VERY popular in Japan.

What propels human innovation? Well, we know where the funding comes from. We know that funding comes when a Return on Investment is available. What do people spend money on? Well, think of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. People want to maintain self preservation, so you will find the greatest technological money flows in those things, which protect the sanctity of life; things such as Health Care and Medical advances, security and military. People also wish respect from their fellow man. They want to look good; thus you will find consumer items such as make-up, clothing, sports cars, etc. Humans also want companionship and entertainment and so we see advances in movie special effects, computer games and now the Japanese are developing human female robots. Today they advertise them as maids, receptionists and servers. But in the true spirit of Kama Sutra, you can bet that those Japanese robotic engineers will soon be designing Blonde Hair Blue Eyed sex robots to serve their will.

These Japanese scientists have unveiled the most human-looking robot to date, well at least in the public domain. Secret research is being done now which looks towards the future to build robots so real they will fool humans, in other words they maybe sitting next to you and you would never even know it. The Japanese scientists call their new robot Android Repliee Q1 Expo. She flutters her eyelids in normal human increments, looks like she is breathing and moves her hands just like a human would. This robot has over 42 actuators. But indeed, this is merely the first step in human type robotics.

We all know that the Internet is used most in recreational use for surfing websites, such as pornography, chat, online dating and personal communications of the sort. It should be obvious that the near future of robotic androids will be used for sexual pleasure. Isaac Asimov and others have cited this as the most probable use. Not only have science fiction authors put these futuristic predicts forth but Hollywood has as well in several movies such as “A.I. Artificial Intelligence.”

Using tactile sensors and the latest Haptics research the Japanese scientists are well on their way to the development of their next marketable technology. The Repliee Q1 Expo has 42 actuators, but some of the MIT robots, will mimic the human nerves in the hand already have 250 sensors. New skin technologies will allow the robots to have real human skin grown in petri dishes and these might also be incorporated in the sexual revolution of robots. I wonder about the babies!?

P.S. There are male sex bots as well

Oh, I want a sex bot! What if he also did cooking, shopping and housework... And listened and validated what you said? But what would we do with all the useless husbands then?

Uhm... well, I like sex, am a helluva cook, don't mind shopping, and am lousy at housework... but would be willing to hire a sexy maid?

Sweetie, I think your tin foil hat is on too tight ;)

It is true, technology is advancing. I heard of robots being made to think for themselves, scary huh?

I don't think there is much I can do about it- besides it take millions of dollars and thousands of hours on research and testing, by the time they are out I'll be dead :)

    That's just my opinion.

LONDON (Reuters) - Watch out scientists -- you may be replaced by a robot.

Two teams of researchers said on Thursday they had created machines that could reason, formulate theories and discover scientific knowledge on their own, marking a major advance in the field of artificial intelligence.

Such robo-scientists could be put to work unraveling complex biological systems, designing new drugs, modeling the world's climate or understanding the cosmos.

For the moment, though, they are performing more humble tasks.

At Aberystwyth University in Wales, Ross King and colleagues have created a robot called Adam that can not only carry out experiments on yeast metabolism but also reason about the results and plan the next experiment.

It is the world's first example of a machine that has made an independent scientific discovery -- in this case, new facts about the genetic make-up of baker's yeast.

"On its own it can think of hypotheses and then do the experiments, and we've checked that it's got the results correct," King said in an interview.

"People have been working on this since the 1960s. When we first sent robots to Mars, they really dreamt of the robots doing their own experiments on Mars. After 40 or 50 years, we've now got the capability to do that."

Their next robot, Eve, will have much more brain power and will be put to work searching for new medicines.

King hopes the application of intelligent robotic thinking to the process of sifting tens of thousands of compounds for potential new drugs will be particularly valuable in the hunt for treatments for neglected tropical diseases like malaria.

King published his findings in the journal Science, alongside a second paper from Hod Lipson and Michael Schmidt of Cornell University in New York, who have developed a computer program capable of working out the fundamental physical laws behind a swinging double pendulum.

Just by crunching the numbers -- and without any prior instruction in physics -- the Cornell machine was able to decipher Isaac Newton's laws of motion and other properties.

Lipson does not think robots will make scientists obsolete any day soon, but believes they could take over much of the routine work in research laboratories.

"One of the biggest problems in science today is finding the underlying principles in areas where there are lots and lots of data," he told reporters in a conference call. "This can help in accelerating the rate at which we can discover scientific principles behind the data."

The Japanese sex bots have sensors that are like our sense of touch.
Now why would they have them if they aren't really advanced?

Thanks NoHelp, I was unaware of that!

Eek. Well as long as it doesn't turn out to be that Will Smith movie then I'm fine with robos doing their own thing on this earth and helping us humans.

Hmm. Maybe people are scared when they think of robots taking over because of all those crazy movies...

They have bought out ones in Japan where you can get a "mini you"
An "exact" replica of you in a smaller robot form...
Only problem is they don't end up looking anything like the 'owner' except for the clothes :D

    It's always the Japanese...
