I have a 94 silverado that while you are driving will just go dead, but you can pull over and put in park and turn the key off and then crank the engine it will start and drive off just fine what could be wrong?

Fault in the ignition somewhere or loose battery terminal ? That's where id start

Replace the Ignition Control Module (likely culprit) and coil.
