How do I create a television show?
Step One: The first and most important step is having the idea. Step Two: Putting your idea on paper. Either a script or a Show Treatment, art work, production notes / ideas, etc. Now once all that is done, then comes the hard part. Step Three: Getting someone to listen. Hollywood is notoriously incestuous. In other words, they usually listen to ideas from their own. You have to either be rich or famous, or know someone who is, or be related by blood or marriage to someone in power, in order to have your idea read. And even then, its not easy. The famous actor John Lithgow tried for years to get someone to listen to and believe in his idea for a new TV series. Finally after years of trying, he got Third Rock From The Sun produced. The show was a HUGE hit and is still running in syndication now. But he had to try very hard.
Of course, if you are already rich then you could produce the show yourself. Otherwise you'll just have to submit your written ideas it to various studios blindly.
Most studios will not accept unsolicited materials. This means that you have to hire an agent ($$$$$) to pitch your ideas for you. Also, if a studio actually buys your idea, don't expect your idea to be made as YOU intended. Hollywood loves to change things. That is if it is actually made. Studios buy lots of ideas but never actually produce them. Of course someone in the studio could just steal your idea and create a rip off it, then claim to have never read yours.
Sorry I couldn't be more positive.
