I just received a small claims summons ref a credit card. After all the other fees it comes to just under 1700. I tried to settle debt earlier but they wouldn't even consider arrangements. I was paying my monthly payments and then hit hard times went 2 months without paying and then tried to "catch up" and that was going nowhere. Kept falling further and further. Finally I did stop paying. A year later no letters no calls between I get the summons. My question is do I just check the yes I owe section and it asks for my employer name address and phone # and let it go from there.

IF you have a defense and want to fight then you respond that you wish to do so.

Or you merely don't return anything or you can admit to it.

Since they are asking for work info, expect a garnishment of about 25 ( average for US,not same in all states) percent of your pay.

So if it was hard times before, how hard now when they get 25 percent o what you make
