I goofed about six weeks ago when I was adding water to my inground vinyl liner pool and simply forgot to turn it off. I left for work and came back at noon to find the pool overflowing. Since then I have had dark shadows in the liner (which are now gone) and today I noticed wrinkles in the deep part of the pool. Not terrible, but noticeable.

Is there anything I need to do? Or is there any chance the water will eventually evaporate or sink back into the water table?

You had water between the liner (dark shadows) and the pool and it has left, that's why you have wrinkles. These wrinkles will not likely go away until the next time your drain your pool and replace the liner.
