Title of a book I read in 1930's
A man finds himself alone somewhere, deserted where there is much snow and ice and cold. When trying to figure out how to find a way out, he is rescued by some native peoples, who took him to a mysterious place where the climate is mild. He lives there, and falls in love. He wants to return home, but take the girl with him. He hears stories that people who leave grow older. He doesn't pay attention. He gathers a group, one lady ages overnight. He continues anyway and returns to civilization, but misses the other place. He arranges to get lost and found again, returns to the other place. He remains there for the rest of his days. He gets religion somewhere along the line. The book was also made into a movie.;)

It's really my mother's memory, Los Horizon sounds right to me; however, she says No, it's something else. Her memory is not so good, so LH could very well be the one. Thanks!
