Crate training dogs while at home working
I have male and female shih tzu's each 1 year old. They were partially potty trained but not fully. The vet suggested I go back to square one with the crate training. I have done that and they don't cry or whine when they are in the crates so I assume they don't mind being in them. I have a family daycare downstairs in my home and the dogs are crated upstairs. I really feel bad that they are alone upstairs and am wondering if it would be a good idea to just bring their crates downstairs in the daycare, so that they won't be alone I just feel bad that I am home but cannot be with them all the time. I am able to let them out every couple of hours and feed them as well but then I have to put them back in the crate...
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Please help!! Thank You!!

I think it'd be a great idea to bring them down in the crates.
    Dogs need lots of attention.
During the day you can also put them in the back yard to get some exercise. But if it's harder for you then you can keep them upstairs because they have each other and won't be totally alone.

How long are they crated for each day roughly?

If your dogs are friendly and the parents of the children don't mind you could keep them in a puppy pen downstairs.
Puppy pens are basically a hexagon shaped wire frame.
Tall enough so that the dogs can't jump out and the children can't bend over it (just be wary of little fingers)

Only problem with puppy pens is the dog will need to be supervised so they would have to be in sight as they can try to jump and hurt themselves.

I would make sure this is okay with ALL parents first, because some children or even their parents might be allergic. But I think socializing the dogs with children would be great.

Yes, of course you need permission from the children's parents but putting the dogs downstairs it a good idea.

I agree, the dogs would be great downstairs!
Make sure every one agrees, I live in a 'sue happy' area and it is disgusting what they would do.

Puppys/Dogs and children, how can it get any better than that?:D
