Can somebody confirm I am about to wire my Hunter remote properly? I've looked through the other posts and think I'm on the right track.

From the fan are wires BLACK (fan power as I understand it), BLACK w/WHITE (Light power?) WHITE (Neutral), GREEN (Ground).

The remote comes in two parts, one larger white part (I assume the receiver) and a smaller black part (I assume the light kit).

The white part has 5 wires: LIGHT OUT (red), FAN OUT (black), COMMON OUT (white), NEUTRAL IN (white), LIVE IN (black).

The "light kit" has 4 wires: LIVE IN (black), LIGHT OUT (red), NEUTRAL IN (white), COMMON OUT (white).

Here's how I interpret all the information on this board and the wiring diagram:

Receiver LIGHT OUT to light kit LIVE IN
Receiver FAN OUT to fan BLACK
Receiver NEUTRAL IN to light kit NEUTRAL IN to house NEUTRAL
Receiver COMMON OUT to light kit COMMON OUT to fan WHITE
Receiver LIVE IN to house LIVE

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

You confused me a bit referencing the wires as light kit, fan, etc.

Correct wiring should be:

Receiver light out to fan black/white striped
Receiver fan out to fan black
Receiver common out to fan white
Receiver neutral in to ceiling white
Receiver live in to ceiling black (or red)

When you say your receiver has two different parts, do they both have wires?

Yes, the receiver has two parts - that is what is so confusing.

The second part (what I refer to as the "light kit") is what is mucking everything up. I assume it is some sort of patch because I've seen some other internet info that the remote receiver didn't previously work that well.

I just went in to switch the direction the fan was going. According to the wiring description above, the fan worked (with some quirks in how the remote controlled things), but when I touched the housing of the fan, it was warm - not a good sign I guess, so I turned the switch off.

Any chance you can figure out which wires on the additional part should go to what?

I just learned from Hunter that what I was referring to as a "light kit" is some sort of energy efficiency limiter. However, they have no electronic version of the appropriate wiring diagram and are scanning (hopefully) a hard copy and emailing it to me.

Does it make a difference that the second part is a "limiter"?

I've never heard of such a thing! New to me.
