    Box Turtle
    A park ranger one time told me it was illegal to take in box turtles as a pet from Kentucky because they are endangered? I know a friend who has taken in a box turtle for a pet. I want to know if I should warn my friend. So is it legal or not?

    Well, you are not in the 'legal forum' but I have a Box turtle as a pet, her name is Ester. I live in California, I had to sign papers to get her because of disease, have had her for 15 or so years.

    My brother in Illinois has them roaming around his property all the time. :)

    It really depends on where you live. In some places it's illegal and in some places it's not. Where do you live?

    I'm pretty sure box turtles aren't illegal where you live but I'm not 100% sure.
