    Tomato plants too leafy?
    Howdy!

So I have a potted garden with 2 half wine barrel sized planters full of tomato plants.
    2 plants per container.
My question is, although my plants are bushy, leafy and beautiful, could they be too bushy and leafy?

I mean, if I were to prune many of the leaves, would I get more tomatoes?

    Thanks!
    Sue

    No, again.
The physiology of the tom plant instructs it put put its energy into the fruit already there.
The only way to gain more fruit is to let it grow.

If you do prune, never go past the last four stems towards the tip on a branch or you'll shut down that branch.
Pruning for yellow old age or diseased stems is okay, and should be done, just make sure you dispose of the trimmings in the trash, don't compost!
Washing of hands should also be done if moving from a known problem plant to a healthy one.
