We live in a house and are looking for a water softner. I would like to see if we can do it ourselves, but the tricky thing is we don't have the plumbing for the water softner. Can some one please let me know how easy or hard it is to do all the plumbing from water meter to the water softner and install the water softner by ourselves.

It depends if you've done plumbing before and how handy you are. Also, it will be much easier if you have copper plumbing rather then galvanized. Moreover, you want to put softener inside garage so main water supply inside garage would be big help, too...
