Has anyone ever gone to a psychic? If so, are they right? Meaning do they tell your future?

I've been to a few different ones. I'm guessing that it goes case by case though. I've met some who were full of it, and some who had genuine insight. Precognition, seeing an event in the future before it happens, has been studied for decades, I believe in it simply because I dream things and find myself experiencing that exact moment days or years later. I wouldn't call that psychic though. I think most are fake as fake can be, and exploit vulnerable people for their own ends.

However, there are some people who define it differently. I grew up pagan, and we, in my family, believe. In some of the anthropology books I have read different cultures believe things that can be called psychic. Like the Haitian Mambo, who use spirit communication to predict the future, or have dreams where ancestors tell them the future of the person in question. So in my opinion, yes, almost every culture has a history of them. Many are defined differently though.

I never been to one but I was thinking about going just to experience it.

You won't lose anything by going but the money you pay. :D I got dragged to one once by two of my girlfriends and she turned out to be the most genuine I had ever been to.
Maybe this can help:
A.) Don't pick at random in the phone book.
B.) Call anyone you pick before you go if you do that anyway.
C.) Ask if the do palm or card readings. (For your own benefit you may want to pick yourself)
D.) Ask around and see if anyone you know has been to one they liked and had a good experience with one.

I went a couple of years ago,nothing the lady said was correct,nor anything she told me... fast forward a few years,in blackpool with a good friend,and this elderly gypsy lady came up to us and said to me' be wise when you get your money' I laughed it off,2 weeks later I won a sum of money.

That was it.

At the end of the day, everyone has to make a living and psychics are no different. They have bills to pay too. So they have to earn money somehow.

I think it's fine to go see a psychic for the experience. What they say may or may not be true. If it's true, then great, if it's not, we shouldn't hold it against them.

The work of psychics is nothing more than vague, fancy semantics. With practice, anyone can do it. It's really nothing more than suggestive language, with you filling in the blanks. For example, I could say to you "I sense that you've suffered a great disappointment recently." Then you'll take that and run with it and convince yourself that I in fact possess some form of ESP. But such a statement could apply to virtually anyone and that's what these "psychics" bank on. To clarify, if someone were to say that to me, I'd immediately think of my recent divorce or the cut in pay I've had to take on my job. Now the so-called "psychic" would know absolutely nothing about those details. But due to the mere suggestiveness of such a statement I could convince myself that (s)he did.

I both agree and disagree with this. I really think it's just a case by case matter. While many do turn it into fancy footwork, I can't help but believe differently for the ones who aren't scam artists. Some people are cynics, some aren't, I think it's more a matter of opinion than enough extensive research to prove ALL psychics are false. Even the Bible talks about actual prophets, and false prophets. Maybe it's more a matter of faith, belief, and personal experience.
