A copy of two identical summons from a creditor was handed to me by an officer of the court, but I signed for nothing, was one of these to be returned to the courts by the officer to acknowledge that I was served?

Are there instructions on the summons? I've never heard of two copies, but I would contact the court clerk and ask.
Heck, if they were supposed to get a signature as proof of delivery on one of the copies, I wouldn't call at all. As far as the creditor knows it was never received! :)
OK, OK, OK, not the best advice but what the heck?? ;)
A signature is often not necessary The process server certifies service.
