Hustler Fastrak lawn mower no spark.
    I have a Hustler fastrak 52/20. It has a Honda 20HP OHV V-TWIN GXV620-QAF engine.
The Engine has no spark. The fuel and compression is good. I have replaced the plugs and checked for anything worn or rubbed through in the wire harness.
The engine has a small module that connects to both coils. I believe it to be a type of ignition module P/N SC3-01 or D1. I tested it with a DVM after removing it. I ohm checked the contacts between both coils and got no reading. I am not sure what voltage or resistance I should be reading. Everything else seems to be OK.
Has anyone seen this problem before and is this common on Honda Engines.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Hi,
I attached a piece of the wiring diagram. It shows that the piece connecting the coils is in the ignition ground. First disconnect it from the rest of the machine and test. It will not hurt to carefully try to run the engine without shrouds, etc. very briefly.
If it starts or has fire, it is the machine itself, otherwise continue. Disconnect the module from the coils and test. If it cranks or has fire it is that module. It is there to protect the ignition coils from the rest of the machine.
    Peace,
    Clarke
