How do I start a homelite gas trimmer

Hi,
I would be helpful to say what model you have.
Generally, in most cases you purge the air from the carb with the bulb on the carb, close the choke fully and give the rope short, sharp pulls. It fires and dies usually. Move choke lever to middle position, depress trigger and pull starter rope to crank and warm engine. When engine warms and runs rich, open choke fully and run.
