Juvenile record used to charge adult with felony?
I was wondering if someone's juvenile record could be used against them to charge them as an adult... live in virginia, commonwealths att. Wants friend to pled out claims that the juvenile record has 1 charge, adult record has 1 and this would make 3. making it a felony~so it could be 3strikes you're out... can't seem to get an answer~help please my eyes hurt from looking at law codes/books!!

    Hello r:

I don't know. But, here's the good news. If they're charging him with a felony, they've appointed a lawyer for him, and that lawyer knows the answer to your question.

He knows it even BETTER than you'll find in the lawbooks, because he knows the particular circumstances of the juvenile record and the circumstances of the present offense...

So, have your friend ask his lawyer. Or, maybe you could even call him up on the telephone and ask yourself. I don't know if he'd tell you.
