6 months ago I got a 2 year old german shepherd dog from a recue centre. He was found roaming the streets, he was very underweight, I was advised to feed him only complete dried food, for the first 3 weeks I couldn't fill him up he just devoured his food, the vet said he was now normal weight, then suddenly he wouldn't eat this food so I tried all different dog foods, no chance, then I tried meat chicken pasta rice and veg, he just has a sniff and walks away, Im sure if I didn't persuade him to eat he wouldn't bother, I have tried leaving it down for 30 minuites and then moving it, he's not bothered, the only time he will eat is when he's out and I do a recall. He then has biscuits, I have had dogs all my life but I don't know how to make this dog eat.can anyone please help me.

I got my dog from a rescue center a little over a year ago.

Just like humans take time to adjust, dogs do to.

My dog would eat like crazy for the first month and a half we had him. Then, he ate very little (still does).
Our best guess is that he didn't know how long he would stay with us, so he was trying to get his fill before he left. When he realised he was here to stay, he calmed down. Most of his behaivor has changed.
However, he is not a very active dog (for the most part xP) and, just like humans, he needs to eat less if he does less.

Has your dog lost weight since this, or has the vet said that this is unhealthy? (assuming you have taken him to the vet since this behaivor has started)

He Might have a cold if his nose is dry you should take hi to the vet!I had the same problem about my great dane.

A dry/warm nose does not mean a dog is sick. In fact, just as all people are different, so are dogs.
This is unfortunately, a commonly accepted rumor about dog health. The wetness of a dog's nose has no relation to his overall health. However, because this is so widespread, and I am not an expert, please view THIS PAGE full of links to similar stories, all proven false.

It's fine. A lot of people make that mistake... it's just so frequently used...
