    Living estate
I have a living eastate and upon my death will the property owner be responsible for any bills I have let behind?

You have some sort of inter-vivos estate planning device? A trust possibly? If so, are you possibly entitled to use the property until you die and then it reverts to someone else?

Assuming all of this is the way it's set out, the "property owner" probably will not be responsible for your bills. But this is only a guess without reading the pertinent document(s).

    Hello m:

It seems to me, that even IF you have a living trust, SOME of your assets might not assigned to it, such as your checking accounts.

Those assets that aren't part of the trust will be probated. THAT process provides for your bills to be paid out of whatever property ISN'T in the trust.

Of course, the lawyer is right. The devil is in the details.
