    2000 Chevy Malibu Problems
I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu that will run just fine till it gets warm then it acts like it runs out of gas, and its not. Then after awhile it will start up and run just fine for awhile then do the same thing again. We have replaced the fuel regulator and crank sensor and ignition module. Help I'm tired of riding to work. P.S. It has a 3.1 motor.

    Thoughts:

. Replace coil packs, which may be breaking down under load (heat).

. Replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, which affects fuel injector pulse width. The ECT Sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor), whose resistance decreases as the engine coolant temperature increases. It provides a richer mixture when cold, leaner mixture when hot. They become corroded, due to not changing the coolant frequently enough, flood the engine, and waste a tremendous amount of fuel.
