What types of foods do you eat?
Do you eat artificial sweeteners, diet foods, foods with a lot of preservatives?
How often and how much do you eat?
    Do you exercise at all?
Do you have medical problems or take medicines that can be making you overweight?

Well let me tell you I don't care what labels on bottles say don't use the pills, I have been down that road. You'l gain it all back in then some.
Now I have recently started with weight watchers, me mum was a member once and she had all the books, great books too, but really you don't even need to join, look up stuff on the internet, there is all kinds of things you can eat and a point system too, and I found this has been one of the not diet but lifestyle change that I have been able to stick too. TRY the smartones by weightwatchers there so good!
Also find time to work out, again nothing else is going to work and stick in for the long term I have lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks by using weightwatchers and working the tredmill, and don't laugh.. riverdancing anyway try it and see if its right for you o and drink lots of water, don't get discouraged don't expect instant results, and you'll be glad you did... good luck to you love

I would suggest you talk to you mom about going to see the doctor. I don't know of any mainstream diets aproved for a 13 year old. (and I have tried A lot of them!) you need to be on a special diet developed for a teen your age.

Irishsaint26, that's excellent advise, I went to weightwatchers and lost 25lbs. However, I thought I would add, that she will have to have a doctors approval before weightwatcehrs will allow her to participate as she is within the 10-16 age bracket. As well as her parents will need to sign a form for her, giving their permission

So either way, see your doctor, either to get the OK for weight watchers, or to get on a diet from your doctor/nutritionalist.

Good luck hon. And DO come back for any more advise on this as we are here for you :)

Hun, you need more than one meal a day. You need 3 meals a day. The reason is that your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every calorie you eat in that one meal. Many people who only eat one meal actually end up gaining weight.

    Exactly!
A lot of great weight loss diets recommend 5 small meals a day.
By eating small amounts often it keeps your stomach digesting and speeds up your metabolism.

Yes please eat all your meals. Shaz is right. 5 or 6 mini meals a day will help you lose weight much healthier than not eating all your meals.

By mini meals I mean small portions of healthy foods. Like little snacks of fruits, veggies, breads and pastas and dairys. Make sure you get all those groups.
