With installing larger drain pipes for the bath tub, why would it still drain slow?

How is that you increased the pipe size.. please explain?

If your tub drains slow it is usually due to fact that the drain or the vent is partially clogged... increasing pipe size will not make a difference here.

Let me know more here...

Please answer Mark's question. A tub has a 1 1/2 drain and trap. What did you increase?

There are several reasons.
1) a clogged vent would cause your tub to run slow. Do you hear any gurgles when draining? **OR**
2) a partial clog would cause it to run slow
Tell us more about these "larger drain pipes"? How much larger? Didyou replace all the drain line or just a piece of it? Was it replaced in hopes of getting it to drain faster? Give us more details. Regards, Tom

Changing the drain pipes was to make it drain faster and not to stand in two inches of water Increased from inch half to two inch all the way to main four inch

Are you sure the 4" drain isn't clogged... backing up into the tub?

Otherwise, tell us how the tub is vented... O.K? Does the lavatory drain connect to the tub drain? If so, how does the lavatory drain? Could be that the lavatory drain/vent is acting as a WET VENT for the tub and the vent is clogged... maybe.

In other words, what comes off this new drain line besides the tub?

Last question... did you replace the bath tub drain & waste (see image) to this tub? If not, I have to wonder if the tub waste assembly itself is clogged.

Please answer all questions...

Again, please tell us exactly what pipes were changed. The tub drain itself is 1 1/2" and can't likely be changed as is the trap. Where did you increase the pipe size. Slow draining tubs means that there is a clog somewhere and pipe size is not the usual fix.

When the tub drains, does it go, Glub! Glub! Glub! As the watrer goes down? Tom
