    Dedicated servers
Is taking a dedicated server service with a hosting service provider will make it possible to host multiple web sites with unlimited number of domains?

Yes and no. If you get a dedicated web server, what you put on it is mostly your own concern (within the rules of the hosting ISP of course - re porn, spam, etc).

BUT... you will normally only get one IP address with your machine, and pay a hefty premium if you want more. IP addresses are like beachfront real estate - very rare and quite expensive.

You can host multiple domains within one IP address, but you really need to know what you are doing, and it's more easily done on a Unix machine. Even then, there are limitations - about 8 domains per IP, and not too busy web sites either.

You will need to shop around carefully. If you have a business idea, perhaps you need to consider partnering with a web hosting company to overcome some of these limitations.

If you know how to use apache configuration files well (mostly the name-based virtual hosting), you shuold be able to get a dedicated server and host as many websites as you want. I believe, although I am not certain, that control panel software such as cpanel, ensim webpliance, plesk, etc... will also allow you to do this with minimal knowledge on your part. If you are just looking to sell webspace to people, I suggest you find a webhosting service that offers you to become a reseller and sign up for that. It allows you to sell hosting packages at prices you set, and gives you discounts on your own webhosting in most cases.

There is a program you can subscribe to called DNS2GO. It allows you to host multiple websites on a single, dynamic or static IP address. Might be worth looking into.
