Hi, I am new to this site. I have a Sears Kenmore washer about 4 yrs old. The agitator turns only clockwise and wraps the clothes around it. I have to stop the machine at least 3 times in a cycle to untangle the clothes from the agitator. It does not go up and down the way it should and it makes a grinding noise. My clothes are not coming clean either. Can anyone tell me what the issue is?

Until you get a better answer,the issue is how are you going to get a new washer?

I don't see a easy fix,pumps and stuff like that are a lot easier than getting into the agitator
