    Permit needed for repipe?
I live in Lake County Florida. Do I need to get a building permit to have the inside of my house repiped?:

Speedball1 is our resident Florida plumber and can tell you for sure. I would doubt the permit is needed but Tom will know.

    Hi Wes:

Like Ballengerb1 said, Tom is a plumber in Florida so wait for his reply, but in my area you would definitely be required to pull a PLUMBING PERMIT for an entire house to be repiped... whether it is waste piping, water piping, or both combined... ;)

    Greetings from Sarasota,
Think about it! In repiping a house you want a experienced plumber in there doing the work. And since a cross connection could put your families health at risk you would want that job inspected by a qualified person. Hence, a permi tmust be pulled.
We fall under The Standard Plumbing Code and Chapter One, Section #104 titled "Application For Permit" paragraph 104.1 titled "When Required"
States; " No person, firm or corporation shall connect any plumbing work with any sewer, sanitary or storm, septic tank or sewerage disposal system of any kind, or install fixtures or appliances in new or existing systems or structures or premises, or repoair, or add to many existing plumbing without first obtaining a separate plumbing permit from the Plumbing Offical."
Good luck on your repipe job but pull a permit and get it inspected. Tom
