I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 washer - it's a few years old. I need to get a stacking dryer for it - do I HAVE to get a Kenmore HE3 dryer, or can I get one from one of the OEM manufacturers (Whirlpool, most likely)?

You have will have to buy a special stand. Stacking washers/dryers come already eqipped to be stacked. I would investigate a little further first, but I believe you would have to buy the same make.

I had a stacking unit and sent it back, it was too noisy.
