    My dog will not eat
My Yorkshire terrier was castrated just over a week ago he seem to fine at first now he will not eat at all. I have tempted him with all different things but no result. The vets cannot find anything wrong. He is also very lethargic and all we wants to do is sleep. He does respond by barking when the door bell rings. Any suggestions?

As long as the vet doesn't see a problem, I would give him more time. Perhaps the surgery wasn't that extensive, but being put under can be difficult. How is his body condition? Check him using the illustrations at http://www.puppychow.com/products/po...condition.aspx Unless his ribs actually start to show, there is nothing to worry about.

Forget tempting him with rich food. Too easy to cause picky eater problems. Instead continue to offer him his regular food. Most commercial dry chows provide a good diet for most dogs.
Put down the dish with what the dog should eat, and give it 15 minutes to eat. Then take it up. Do not give it anything to eat until its next scheduled meal. In a few days, it should be eating what it needs. Continue to check its ribs and adjust the food as needed. This is not easy. I had a Shepherd go 3 days on a few nibbles. I was a wreck, but she was fine. It is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat what it needs. Unfortunately, in too many cases, it is less than the package says, and less than the owner thinks the dog should have. Many dogs are quite good at holding out for tastier chow. Like kids, sometimes it calls for tough love.
