Pain in left side at waistline
I have had severe pain in the left side at the waistline. It started about 2 weeks ago and has gotten progressively worse. I have been to 3 doctors and had CT scan of abdomen, ultrasound of pelvis and having a colonoscopathy tomorrow. I have been in so much pain that medications have not helped AT ALL! I have last been prescribed morphine since I was crying with the pain. At first I thought it had to be kidney or bowel so I took several laxatives and didn't get any relief which led me to believe it is a bowel obstruction. I couldn't eat for 3 days because I started vomiting (I really didn't feel like eating anyway), and yesterday the GI dr said continue not eating and take more laxatives for my test tomorrow. I am finally passing a lot of watery stool, but just a little of the pain has been relieved. I also have a strange numbness of the skin in the area?? Does anyone have any advice? If I have another normal test I will go nuts since I KNOW I have a problem.

The GI doctor prescribed a laxative to clean out the lower bowel before your colonoscopy, that is standard procedure for this.

Reserve your judgment until you have your colonoscopy tomorrow. I don't understand what the numbness is but as far as I can see everyone is doing the best for you that they can.

You can't eat before you go tomorrow, you understand that, right ?
