I have a Toshiba laptop with XP on it (it's a new laptop, I just had vista removed and installed XP).

Before I was able to connect it to TV easily using S-video cable, but now for some reason I'm not getting picture on the TV.

I played around with monitor/output settings but can't figure out what's wrong.

So what do I need to do to copy desktop to the TV (so I can watch movies from the HD on the TV as well as streaming videos)?

You just need to engage monitor/video out, and select s video input on TV. Then Audio.

I did that but for some reason it doesn't work.. I'm not sure how to select that I want the TV (second monitor I guess, or Extended.. in the settings) to be output device..

Press FN and F8 at the same time and select the configuration you want. That will enable Second Monitor. Go into display option and check Use this as Primary monitor (the laptop)
