There was this movie where a kid from outer space lands on earth and has a huge head and tiny nose. He wanders around checking out things here on earth but never talks.
In one scene he finds a bottle of booze and drinks a bit and stumbles around drunk and makes friends with some old guy's dog.
I think he gets shot in the end or something like that. Does anyone know what the name of this movie is. I think it was in the 1990's, maybe a short film.

No. It's not Mac & Me. It was not a popular movie of it's time. That is why I tend to think it was some kind of short or off beat sci fi movie like Killer Clowns from Outer Space.

I think the movie is called AURORA ENCOUNTER It came out in 1986 and was a really bad B-movie. Here is a link to a site that talks about the movie. You'll see the cast, the alien kid drinking, and the old man.

This movie was not just bad, but also controversial. The main reason why, it used an ill kid afflicted with a disease called Progeria as the "alien" and because of his illness, they didn't have to use any alien make up on him.
